A bloom of unicorns

Why are so many unicorns (or possible unicorns) appearing after no sightings at all for hundreds of years? Once more, my garden has inspired me. Some bamboo varieties flower only every 60-130 years. And, every plant of the same variety—no matter where it is in the world—flowers at the exact same time. Somehow bamboo in California communicates with bamboo in China. Botanists are stumped. Science doesn’t have the answers. But it does happen.

What if unicorns are similar in some way? Maybe they’re coming out of a long dormancy. Maybe they’re beginning to…bloom?
